Hello and welcome to the factbook of the Archonate of Delfina run by the nation of the same name as on our lovely Discord and on Nation States. If you have any questions about anything here please don't hesitate to send me a message on Discord or on Nation States though Discord is preferred. Avoid sending me a PM here on the forum because honestly I rarely check that kind of thing.
First and foremost here is a link to important iiwiki pages that are essentially my factbook. I'll port some over but for the most part see to those links to get the information that others put in their factbooks on here. Sorry for the extra step! I just put a lot of work into my iiwiki pages and thoroughly enjoy the templates and other freedoms accorded me on there!

The Twin Kingdoms 1417-1612The Twin Kingdoms were seperate and sovereign realms independent of one another. The title Twin Kingdoms was at first applied by foreigners to describe the two kingdoms that spanned the breadth of modern Delfina as political entities. While the two were mostly amicable to one another during this period, they were at times also in a state of war with one another. Border adjustments occurred on a nearly yearly basis with no major city on the border due to the seemingly constant changes being made, demanded and enforced by one or both of the Kingdoms. Both Declarion and Severa were ruled by a single royal house during this period. The two would finally merge both their Royal Houses and their Kingdoms when Clemente III of Declarion and Dorian III of Severa had their son and daughter (respectively) marry. Upon the coming of age of the eldest son of the couple, Livio, both Kings abdicated in favor of the child and the unification of the Twin Kingdoms occurred and gave way to Delfina. *The following list of rulers, one for Declarion and one for Severa are to be considered concurrent and it is important to realize that there are ruler overlaps as one Kingdom might have had one king while in the same period the other had multiple.Kingdom of Declarion and House KaletorThe Twin Kingdoms were created in 1417 to bring stability to the Delfine area. The first of the Twin Kingdoms was Declarion that ruled the southern areas of modern day Delfina. House Kaletor ruled here for the duration of Declarion. The first of the House to be King was Attaviano and it would end with Clemente III.- Attaviano I and V (21.12.1417 - 15.6.1443)
- Brizio I (15.6.1443 - 19.9.1462)
- Clemente I (19.9.1462 - 9.1.1468)
- Clemente II the Just (9.1.1468 - 3.7.1497)
- Illario I (3.7.1497 - 18.9.1531)
- Leonzio I the Navarch (18.9.1531 - 17.3.1588)
- Clemente III the Frail (17.3.1588 - 21.6.1612)
Kingdom of Severa and House ArionThe Twin Kingdoms were created in 1417 to bring stability to the Delfine area. The second of the Twin Kingdoms was Severa. The Kingdom was formed through a marriage union and when the heir to the four northern realms inherited them all upon their father and mother's deaths, Severa was created. The Kingdom made up most of the northern hill and mountain regions of modern Delfina. House Arion ruled nearly uncontested here for the duration of the Twin-Kingdom of Severa. The first to rule the Twin-Kingdom of Severa was Jocasta I and the last was Dorian III.- Jocasta I the Red (21.12.1417 - 19.2.1418)
- Dorian I (19.2.1418 - 30.9.1423)
- Faenus I (30.9.1423 - 3.1.1437)
- Dorian II the Shield (3.1.1437 - 17.10.1481)
- Asonides I (17.10.1481 - 4. 10. 1505)
- Orcus I the Fair (4. 10. 1505 - 1.12.1535)
- Altea I (1.12.1535 - 31.10.1587)
- Faenus II the Black (31.10.1587 - 11.2.1588)
- Orcus II the Brave (11.2.1588 - 5.5.1599)
- Dorian III (5.5.1599 - 21.6.1612)
The Kingdom of Delfina 1612 - 1788 Created through the merger of the Twin Kingdoms, The Kingdom of Delfina would stand until 1788 when the Great Revolution toppled the monarchy. The true successor state to the Kingdom would be the Archonate as the monarchy was restored in 1872 following a successful coup by the nobility and military in 1870.
House Kaletor-Arion House Kaletor-Arion was the product of the merger of the Twin Kingdoms formally creating the Kingdom of Delfina. The first united entity to span the breadth of modern Delfina since the Feorentine Empire centuries earlier. Livio I was the first to rule the Kingdom with Marcello II being the last of House Kaletor-Arion. The family was simply a merger of not only the Twin Kingdoms but also of the two Royal Houses that had ruled them. House Kaletor had ruled Declarion while House Arion had ruled Severa. Kings Clemente III and Dorian III married their children with the grandchild, Livio, being the one who would inherit the Twin Thrones and thus merge them into one. This unification created a rather stable and powerful country that would go on to withstand lots of turmoil.
- Livio I (21.6.1612 - 18.9.1627)
- Marcello I (18.9.1627 - 17.4.1628)
- Valerio I (17.4.1628 - 6.1.1630)
- Marcello II (6.1.1630 - 1.6.1643)
House Loxias House Loxias followed on the heels of House Kaletor-Arion as the Kings of a united Delfina. Their first ruler was Livio II who was the illegitimate son of Valerio I. As Marcello II didn't have any children at all he believed that by semi-legitimizing his cousin it would provide stability for the nation. In fact it was due to Marcello's popularity that allowed for the people to embrace Livio II. The nobles were not so on board with the idea believing it to be against the norm and while the made protests to the King at the time, upon Livio's ascension he quieted them by cutting their taxes and instituting mild reforms. Livio's descendants would carry on this method of placating the nobles while reforming the society and government. By the end of House Loxias' reign the nation was mildly a constitutional monarchy and were beloved by the people. The assassination of Marcello IV, the last of House Loxias, along with his heirs and a coup by House Medon meant their time was at an end.
- Livio II (1.6.1643 - 2.1.1646)
- Chiara I (2.1.1646 - 7.2.1666)
- Marcello III (7.2.1666 - 1.3.1690)
- Marcello IV (1.3.1690 - 9.4.1698)
House MedonHouse Medon came to power in the Kingdom of Delfina in 1698 with the ascension of Pelagius I. While his reign was short, his main goal was to reinstate the authority of the monarch that had been sidelined under the previous dynasty of House Loxias. Pelagius I suspended the Prescien for a year in 1699 and then indefinitely in 1701. Some modern historians believe that this act is what led to his assassination that year. His subsequent heirs, Pelagius II and III followed their father and grandfather's lead by restricting more and more rights that had been afforded under House Loxias along with spending much of the nation's money frivolously. The last of House Medon, Renato I attempted to correct many of his Houses' mistakes but they were too little too late and it was House Medon that set the Kingdom on the path that would culminate in the Great Revolution that toppled the subsequent dynasty of House Medon-Alector.- Pelagius I (9.4.1698 - 29.12.1701)
- Pelagius II (29.12.1701 - 16.8.1714)
- Pelagius III (16.8.1714 - 3.3.1720)
- Renato I (3.3.1720 - 28.2.1761)
House Medon-AlectorHouse Medon-Alector came to the throne when Renato I died thus leaving the throne to his cousin Ottavia due to only having illegitimate children. Having never been prepared to reign, Ottavia stumbled through the first few years of her reign and refused to call her House solely Medon as she was married to the Duke of Tesoviste who's House was Alector. Having great influence over his wife meant that the Duke was able to not only get his house into the Royal title but also increase his influence exponentially. House Medon-Alector only lasted two monarchs on the throne before being overthrown in the Great Revolution in 1788. Ottavia I was the first of House Medon-Alector while her son Ezio I was the last of the Kingdom period.
- Ottavia I (28.2.1761 - 8.11.1780)
- Ezio I (8.11.1780 - 18.9.1788)
The Archonate 1872-PresentThe Archonate of Delfina is the name given to the political entity that is modern Delfina. The Republic that was set up in 1789 following the Great Revolution in 1788 abolished the monarchy, marginalized the old nobility and the military. They relied heavily on the will of the people. This served them quite well for the first decade or two as the nation seemed on track to embrace its new identity as a Republic. Never before had Delfina been one and the rights now afforded to its citizens were sweeping. The economic struggles though surfaced in the mid 1800s and then came several assassinations of prominent revolutionaries. This coupled with growing unrest led to a coup d'etat by the old nobility, the military and even some of the republican's opposition parties. The Archonate was proclaimed in 1870 and two years later the monarchy was restored with a healthy set of checks and balances. House Caparetti was chosen to be the Monarchs and while they no longer reign in name, the subsequent House of Saluja are related to them rather closely.House CaparettiHouse Caparetti was a lower noble house that had not been in the court of any of the preceding royal houses. This went two ways for them, the first was that it meant they were not part of what many Delfine regarded as a 'taint' that many older and more highly ranked noble houses had. This allowed them to win the backing of the Military and Businesspeople. The second thing they had going for them was that they were in fact nobles, that meant the nobility would support them, though it was slow and they were suspicious of a lower house being elevated to the throne at gunpoint. House Caparetti would go out of its way though to prove it was worthy of such elevation and would usher in a golden age of sorts during the early decades of the Restoration. The first of this house was Macario I and the last would be Macario II. The House Caparetti would come to an end in 1946 when no legitimate heir existed and a distant relative through a maternal branch would succeed. - Macario I (18.5.1872 - 25.12.1902)
- Renato II (25.12.1902 - 17.7.1913)
- Galatea I (17.7.1913 - 1.9.1927)
- Macario II (1.9.1927 - 3.6.1946)
House SalujaHouse Saluja was a maternal branch of House Caparetti via Princess Ara Caparetti who married Duke Tercio Saluja in 1910. The Saluja's were a foreign house that was elevated from Patrician status to Nobility following the restoration of the monarchy in 1872 by then reigning Macario I. Basilio I was the first House Saluja to become Reĝio and has since tied the Duchy of Verale to the Crown as the designated title for the Crown Prince or Princess. The incumbent monarch, Sarandine III is the second of House Saluja and inherited the position upon the death of her grandfather in 1987. Her father was killed in a car accident in 1985 thus meaning she would become the new sovereign in his place. She has since decreed that her own grandson Ilien is to succeed her rather than her son Livio.- Basilio I (3.6.1946 - 12.9.1987)
- Sarandine III (12.9.1987 - Present)
