History
The Republic of Rosaria originally started off as a multitude of tribes united by the first of many kings, King Alvaro Cortez ruling Rosaria as the Kingdom of Rosaria which has existed from 1021-1798. The early years of the Kingdom of Rosaria under King Alvaro Cortez remained peaceful, with prosperity and territorial gains marking the majority of of the Cortez family rule.
1021-1171 The Cortez Royal Family ruled for 150 years with 4 kings ruling over the period of time.
King Alvaro Cortez /Alvaro the Honorable (1021-1047): The first King of Rosaria was the leader of the Rosera Tribe, a prominent power within the lands who preferred diplomacy over action. After a raid which would see his sons killed, Alvaro met with bordering tribes and agreed to unification after months of discussion and debate, the tribe leaders becoming lords and Alvaro being crowned king. During his reign conflict was nonexistent and peace reign throughout the land. This would allow prosperity and massive population growth with territorial expansions occurring throughout the final years of Alvaro's life. At the time of his death he named his son Fernadino Cortez heir to the crown.
King Fernadino Cortez (1047-1100): The Second King of Rosaria, he succeeded his father Alvaro Cortez. A young man when crowned king continued in his father's footsteps in "keeping the peace". No conflicts during his rule and no significant events occurred. He bore 3 children, 1 son and 2 daughters Mica,Maria and Mariana. He passed in his sleep naming Mica as his heir.
King Mica Cortez/Mica the Brave (1100-1166): Third King of Rosaria, succeeded King Fernadino Cortez. Early to middle years of his reign saw continued peace that lasted two kings and 100 years. Mica would increase autonomy of his lords and provide more freedom to do as they please which he would come to regret later in his rule. Around 1147 Lord Geraldo Dania would rebel against Mica and claim the crown for himself calling Mica and the Cortez family weak due to years of inactivity and doing nothing. Geraldo raised an army and sought the support of the other lords to no avail. Mica would declare Geraldo a traitor and strip him of all titles and land and would raise an army to repress Geraldo's rebellion. Geraldo's rebellion would last 3 years with him claiming a majority of the victories. Mica, being completely inexperience in warfare and wartime ruling would sour his relations with the other lords who would later call back their forces and leave Mica alone to fight Geraldo. Mica continued to fight and would see a fair share of victories the final year of the rebellion. During the battle near Valencia Mica would slay Geraldo. The death of Geraldo would end the rebellion but would weaken the Cortez family standing throughout the land.Although inexperienced Mica choosing to face battle and death earned him the name Mica the Brave. He would be succeeded by his wife Daniella Cortez at the the time of his death due to having no heirs.
Queen Daniella Cortez/Daniella the Unworthy (1066-1171): Queen Daniella Cortez, first Queen of Rosaria, succeeded King Mica Cortez. The first year of her rule would see her challenged by all the lords of Rosaria, that no woman can rule Rosaria stating that it was fate that Mica bore no heirs and that it was a sign that a new family should rule. Daniella attempted to rule for the next four years but would come to an end after another rebellion would see her executed and a new family taking the throne.
1171-1550
The Vasquez Royal Family ruled for 371 years with 8 kings over the period of time.
King Dario Vasquez (1171-1223): Fourth King of Rosaria and first of his family to rule. After the execution of Daniella Cortez he claimed the throne and declared his family the rulers of Rosaria. During his reign he focused on returning to peace but would remove some autonomy from the other lords. It would be with him that a Rosarian Royal Army would be established, allowing lords to maintain a small force instead of their own armies. King Dario would also introduce economic reforms raising taxes and introducing currency in the form of metal coins. He would die of old age leaving two sons, Diego and Bernado with Diego being his successor.
King Diego Vasquez (1223-1231): Fifth King of Rosaria. He would rule with a firm hand placing an importance on agriculture over trade which would anger merchants and would spread disdain through the merchant guilds and traders. However this would lead to increased population growth and the development of currents towns and the creation of new ones. He would continue to rule until his untimely death. With no heirs his brother Bernado Vasquez was named the rightful heir.
King Bernado Vasquez (1231-1288): Sixth King of Rosaria.
